Simple Salad Sauces

Hey Folks,

I eat salads with a lot of things.  As many of you know, most store-bought dressings contain soy, so I make my own.  My plan is to fill this page with simple dressings that are versatile for any salad with any meal.

Double check to make sure your Dijon doesn’t have any grain vinegar.  Call manufacturer.

Easy Herb Vinaigrette: This Recipe is one of my favorites!  It is from Cooking Light magazine.  (I had already cut out the recipe last year, so I am unsure as to from which 2010 issue it was clipped.)

9 T white wine vinegar

1.5T wildflower honey (I just use regular honey or about 1T of agave)

1/2t fine sea salt

1c Canola oil

3T chopped fresh basil (Fresh not dried on this one is a must!)

3T minced fresh chives

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; slowly whisk in oil until combined.  Stir in basil and chives.

Store covered in fridge for up to 5 days.
